Ninja Challenge League Finals 2017
The NCL Finals 2017 was a landmark event in Ninja Challenge League history, with more than 20 interstate competitors joining a stacked field of locals and international wildcards.
A record 28 competitors completed Stage One, including the first female finisher, India Henry.
Stage Two proved to be a bloodbath, with the new Hanging Rock to Circuit Board combination taking out 24 of the 28 competitors.
Only Perth locals Donny Byrne and Luke Shelton and Melbourne osteopath Daniel Mason were able to make it to the fourth obstacle.
Byrne, the first to clear the Circuit Board, ended up the Last Ninja Standing by successfully making a jump on the beefed up Salmon Ladder after those that followed were unable to best his effort.
Stage Two proved to be insurmountable for all of the competitors, but it only made them hungrier to return and prove themselves against the undefeated Ninja Challenge course.
This was also the first year that the Ninja Challenge League was officially aligned with the National Ninja League, with the top seven men and top three women qualifying for the World Finals at Ninja Quest in Georgia, USA.
